Welcome to the Dark Side, Blogger

I have come to the conclusion that every artist has a blog, and that since I don't have a blog, I am something like an alien.  Except I am not green, slimy, I do not eat people's pets, and I do not have a Darth Vader helmet.

In other news, I'm moving again.  I had an enjoyable time here in Northern Alberta, but we're going back to Southern Ontario.  I'm a little happy, because I would rather have a -20C winter then a -50C with three hours of sunlight.  I will miss a few things, such as coyotes and magpies waking me up at all hours of the night, the occasional Northern Lights viewing, and being able to see fists full of stars at night.  It's 6C outside, and not even September.  I won't miss the temperature.  Two more weeks and I'm heading just south of Ottawa for six months.  After that, it's a mystery...

I've been in an art hiatus for the last few months.  Somedays I look at my work and I just hate it.  Maybe I'm a little self destructive, but the fact is that at this point in my life as an artist I have not agreed with myself on a particular style to work in (of a few particular styles for that matter).  I often work with no clear definition of where I'm going, and I feel like I'm continually bashing my head against the pavement.  What's a girl to do?  I've decided that it's time to start from scratch, building myself back-up brick by brick.  Exploring new mediums and new ideas.

What's an artist without new ideas?
